Blackened metal voyagers Necronautical unveil a brilliant new video

Prepare for afterworld domination with the glorious Nihilartikel here!

One of the burning spiritual questions of our age is: will there be extreme metal in the afterlife? If Necronautical have anything to do with it, the answer is a resounding yes. Furnace-fed by great chunks of blackened death meal, the north-east England crew have, as the name suggests, set a course for the realms beyond our mortal veil, determined to discover the probably pretty trippy experiences awaiting us on the side.

Newly signed up to resurrected cult label Cacophonous Records, Necronautical’s second foray, The Endurance At Night, is due to set sail on July 15, bursting with the kind of pulverising, virtuoso grandeur that will make fans of Fleshgod Apocalypse feel like they’ve died and gone to a delectably decadent purgatory - and we have a very exclusive preview in the blistering yet sumptuous form of the official video for the track Nihilartikel.

Gorgeously grainy and looking like it’s been being spooled from a decomposing reel of acetate, it features our corpsepaint-smeared and uniformed foursome consulting maps under candlelight, drinking wine, banging tables and basically preparing for afterworld domination as their vast and face-ripping dynamics ascend into higher states of outright, endorphin-unleashing lunacy.

"We are proud to be premiering Necronautical's debut video through Metal Hammer, says singer Naut. “We have chosen to reveal the song Nihilartikel, which literally translates as 'nothing-article'. The concept for the song was to juxtapose the grandeur and noble ambition of Man and his Gods with their most sycophantic searches for an ill-defined notion of power. Herein, the imperialist romanticisation of the power of land itself, through conquest or claim-staking, becomes the downfall of he that focuses solely on such external trappings, neglecting the true power that comes from mastery of the self. We chose this song to reveal first because of all on the album it is one of the faster, more kinetic tracks from the album. You can expect a lot of diversity throughout the rest of The Endurance At Night, with music ranging from atmospheric, slower and more sombre stuff to thrashier territories to out and out screaming and blasting brutality!”

Stand at your balcony, announce your intentions to watch Nihilartikel to the bewildered throng below and gird yourself for its glory!
