'War torn' UK black metallers Eastern Front stream their epic new album in full

As much as metal loves to glorify war, everyone knows it’s a brutal endeavour, steeped in soul-deadening atrocity, carnage and the heinous whims of tyrants. For 10 years, Suffolk-based black metallers Eastern Front have shone an unblinking, corpsepainted eye on the horrors of battle and its repercussions, and with their signing to resurrected cult label Cacophonous Records, they’re about to release their most conceptual and ambitious album yet.

Due for release on September 30, the band’s third album, EmpirE, introduces a new vocalist, Marder, also the fearsome frontwoman for Daemonia, as it explores the costs of empire building, which basically amounts to tons of bloodshed and no little devastation. Appropriately exspansive, EmpirE is a sweeping travelogue across the relentless and pitiless march of history, at once imperious and emotionally devastating, and we have a stream of the album in its full, coruscating majesty. So cower in your basements, berate the depravity of the powers that be, but most importantly, bang your head to Empire below!
