Live: Cats In Space

Live Review

Venue: London Putney Half Moon

A purr-fect night of 70s pop rock.

It’s no exaggeration to state that Cats In Space represent a crusade for a return to better musical times.

Informed by the cream of 1970s rock and pop, Too Many Gods was among the most rewarding debuts of last year. Recreating its patchwork of ELO, Cheap Trick and 10cc influences onstage had seemed daunting, though while the band’s six-man line-up could be described as journeymen, experience accrued while working with the likes of Sweet, Moritz, T’Pau, Ian Gillan, Airrace and Arena serves them well.
