STP writing more music with Chester

Stone Temple Pilots are back in the studio with Linkin Park mainman Chester Bennington.

Bassist Robert DeLeo confirmed the news on Twitter and posted a picture of himself with the vocalist, along with guitarist Dean DeLeo and drummer Eric Kratz at Homefry Studios.

He says: “It’s been a great week for writing new songs here are Homefry. New STP starting Monday. Stay tuned.”

Bennington previously appeared on STP’s High Rise EP in 2013 following the departure of frontman Scott Weiland, leading the former singer to slam the release, stating the collaboration “didn’t work.”

Bennington and STP spent time together in the studio last summer before the Linkin Park man returned to his main band to tour following the release of their sixth album The Hunting Party.

At the time, Robert DeLeo said: “Chester’s main concern definitely is Linkin Park. When he’s busy with them it offers Dean, Eric and myself some time to really get some new music together.”
