Apocalyptica and Perez partnership could go on

Apocalyptica haven’t ruled out the possibility of Franky Perez joining the band on a permanent basis.

The former Scars On Broadway man last year recorded all of the vocals on Apocalyptica’s upcoming album Shadowmaker – due for release in April via Eleven Seven Music. And he’s also onboard for touring duties in support of the album release.

But that might not be the end of his association with the Finnish symphonic metal outfit, according to cellist Eicca Toppinen.

He tells The Rock Pit: “It’s too early to think about it but nothing is decided. Now we got the record done and then we will have touring more or less for two years. At the end of that time, or sometime during those two years, we will know.

“But it wouldn’t be an impossible option to have Franky in the band, but it’s too early to think about it. We have been through several concepts and we still want the option to change the concept to do something different.”

The band said earlier this month that rehearsals were going well for their upcoming tour. Last year, they explained that the inclusion of Perez was to give the new album more of a ‘band’ feel.
