The Sword set for studio sessions

The Sword have confirmed they’ll start recording their fifth album next month.

The Texan outfit will assemble in their studio on March 16 with producer Adrian Quesada, with the follow-up to 2012’s Apocryphon expected in late summer via Razor & Tie.

Guitarist Kyle Shutt last year reflected on completing the cycle connected with their fourth record, saying: “Every cycle is a learning experience. You refine it a little more. We’re not the best band in the world by any means, but we keep learning.

“We’re getting to the point where we’re going over the hump of doing dumb shit. We’re more grown-up and take it more seriously – but we’re always having fun.”

The Sword play four US shows in the days running up to recording.
