Hans Reffert dead at 69

German musician, composer and artist Hans Reffert, best known for his work with Guru Guru has died at the age of 69.

The news was confirmed by the krautrock band’s founding member Mani Neumeier.

He says on Facebook: “We of Guru Guru and thousands of others, mourn our friend and guitarist Hans Reffert, yesterday who fell asleep. Unbelievable. We will always love you. We miss you very much.”

Aside from his work with Guru Guru, Reffert was involved with a variety of ensembles including lute And Voice, Zauberfinger, Sanfte Liebe and Schrammel And Slide, and created commissioned pieces for the Mannheim National Theatre, Germany. He also worked on scores for cinema and television.

No cause of death has so far been announced.
