Bullet For My Valentine have no EP gameplan

Bullet For My Valentine

Bullet For My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck says the band want to record an EP of new tracks just for fun – and it won’t come with a gameplan.

They recently signed a record deal with Spinefarm, following the end of their contract with Sony, and announced that the first release would be a short-form title, due later this year.

Tuck tells Kaaos TV: “We’ve been so busy touring that we haven’t had the creative head on to get stuck into writing. The schedule has been so manic that everyone’s just not there yet.

“We need a little bit of downtime to regroup and get creative. We just want to get in the studio and write a couple of songs, just for fun, and get it out there.”

He adds: “There’s no real gameplan behind it. We just feel we’d like to release a couple of songs for fun.”

Asked about the change of record labels, Tuck says: “Sony came back with a new deal, but we wanted a fresh start, with people that really wanted to have the band rather than just re-sign the band.”

He says of Spinefarm: “It’s more kind of what we do – heavy rock, heavy metal and stuff like that. They know how to market the band better. And their deal was way better than anyone else’s as well.”

Bullet For My Valentine’s current touring commitments include European dates this month, US plans next month and UK shows in November and December.
