Joe Satriani has premiered his new track Thunder High On The Mountain exclusively with Classic Rock.

It’s the latest material taken from Satch’s upcoming studio album What Happens Next, which will launch on January 12 via Sony/Legacy.

The guitar virtuoso is joined on the record by his Chickenfoot bandmate and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith along with Black Country Communion mainman and bassist Glenn Hughes.

Satriani recently announced his latest G3 tour dates which will take place across North America in January and February. He’ll be joined on the road by Dream Theater’s John Petrucci and Def Leppard’s Phil Collen.

Satriani said: “I could say that I’m surprised at the durability of G3 and how much it’s grown, but in a way I’m not. I think part of its charm and its mojo is in the chemistry of having three top guitarists share what they do on stage.

“It’s fun, it’s unpredictable, it’s wild – it’s everything you could want in a show.”
