King Goat: Conduit

Album Review

South coast doom unit progress through the ranks

With two highly acclaimed EPs under their belts, this Brighton progressive doom five-piece have continually improved – and this debut full-length is undoubtedly their best work to date.

With just five tracks sprawling across 40-odd minutes, this behemoth not only finds an improvement in songwriting, but in both technique and performance, too. Frontman Trim’s standout vocals lead the way as the band cover the gamut of their influences to explore moments of both devastating heaviness and towering highs, through the Candlemass-like doom and Opeth-style progressiveness of openers Flight Of The Deviants and Feral King.
