On release in 2006, Risehad every man and his dog tipping The Answer for megastardom. But, while the Northern Irish band didn’t entirely fall off the map like the bulk of their contemporaries, they never quite lived up to that early promise either.

Listening to their remastered debut today, the reason for their underachievement is clear – they haven’t come close to matching this superb album. Under The Sky still hits like a train, while slow-burner Be What You Want and dirty 12-bar slammer Memphis Water showcase guitarist Paul Mahon’s bluesy licks and frontman Cormac Neeson’s soaring range to full effect.

A bonus disc comes packed with early demos and new mixes, the pick of which is an early version of the storming Keep Believin’.
